The mission of the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District is to provide recreational experiences for our residents and guests through innovative, quality programs and facilities that promote health and wellness. Since 1996, the Grand Foundation has assisted the FVMRD in pursuit of that mission. Over the years, the Grand Foundation has provided grant funding to the FVMRD for multiple projects including; renovation of our Alex Newberry Little League field, which has since played host to the Colorado Little League State Tournament; assisting in outfitting the Grand Park Community Recreation Center with gymnastics equipment; providing funding for our guardian angel youth scholarship fund; and most recently, funding for the new Historic Playground at the Fraser Valley Sports Complex.

Over 8 Years of Fundraising with the Grand Foundation

For the past 8 years, the FVMRD and the Grand Foundation have partnered to host the Grand Classic Golf Tournament. This 2 day tournament at 2 mountain courses has raised $180,000 to support FVMRD youth programs.

The Grand Foundation is unique in its ability to make an impact in so many diverse areas of community needs. They have their finger on the pulse of the community and know how to direct resources to the most appropriate areas. Grand County is a better place because of the Grand Foundation!
